Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i is fighting a brewing rebellion from his Nyamira backyard as more Jubilee leaders continue to abandon him.
Last week, MPs Joash Nyamoko (North Mugirango) and Shadrack Mose (Kitutu Masaba) termed him as a 'tenant' given his supposed background in Kisii County.
And Ex-MPs Joseph Kiangoi and Walter Nyambati have added their voice, calling for appointment of a Nyamira native to government.
"We toiled hard for Jubilee to win in a traditional ODM stronghold and as Nyamira people, we deserve more appointments," said Nyambati.
Joseph Kiangoi, who was in charge of Jubilee campaigns said: "We can't allow outsiders to be rewarded out of our hard work."
Despite living in Borabu constituency, Matiang'i's parents are said to be 'immigrants' from the modern day Kisii County.
And to that effect, Nyamira Jubilee leadership has been pushing for appointment of one of their 'own' to senior government position.
