Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang'i has been urged to intervene the relocation of Ekerenyo police station in Nyamira county.
Speaking to the media on Monday ,Nyamira north residents led by Eklerenyo MCA Tadius Nyabaro lamented over the relocation of Ekerenyo police station and urged Matiang'i to stop the relocation of Ekerenyo police station for security purposes.
"We used to experience insecurity at Ekerenyo other days back ,we urged the government to open a police station to beef up security and the government complied but now we have been told that Ekerenyo police station is going to be relocated to unknown area we are appealing to the government to help us," said MCA Nyabaro
"we want the police station to remain at Ekerenyo and we can't accept as leaders the police station which was opened to tighten security to be relocated," he added
His sentiments were echoed by his counterpart Bomwagamo MCA Charles Barango who vowed not to accept the relocation of the police station
"We were elected to serve our people and to fight for them we promise not to accept the relocation of the station, let the government know residents need security through police officers," said MCA Barongo
