A section of leaders drawn from Kisii county has now called upon interior CS Dr. Fred Matiang'i to reshuffle all top security officers in the county due to the rising insecurity cases.

The leaders decried that there have been increased insecurity cases for the last five months whereby some unknown gang group has been killing people and the police have failed to arrest them.

Led by south Mugirango member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro the leaders said they are tired of attending burials of people who are murdered in cold blood above all no killer have been arrested and they cited laxity of security personals.

"For the last five months the larger Kisii and Nyamira counties have recorded high numbers of insecurity cases and we blame the security officers for not taking serious actions and .measures to end such issues," said Osoro

The leaders further told Matiang'i to ensure he embarks a week or month long crackdown on an illicit brew that has been also on the upsurge.

'The CS Fred Matiang'i is now put on notice to bring sanity in the area by simply cracking down on those involved on illicit brew trade as well as organized gangs that have been killing innocent Kenyans " said Osoro

Their decry comes at a time the area has recorded more than ten cases of killings under unclear circumstances latest being one where a community policing official was killed by unknown people in Nyanchwa.

On the same event, Moticho ward representative Evans Mokoro also applauded Osoro's sentiments saying they've been living in fear due to the rising insecurity cases all over sudden.

"Both residents and we as leaders live in fear of our lives and therefore we would like the National government to take immediate action," said Mokoro

They were speaking on Friday at Nyangweta area during the public hearing of the upcoming sugar complex.
