Education CS Fred Matiangi has vowed not to defend any institution breaking the law in Gusii region.
He adds that he cannot override any decision made by County Education Directors.
“There are procedures to be followed for every case and I don’t need to come in each instance,” said Matiang’i.
Matiang'i was responding to blames from a sectioon of residents over closure of Kisii University branches.
“Kisii University branches and others like Laikipia, Kabarak and Moi were given enough time to make reforms as per guidelines from the Ministry and Commission of University Education (CUE)," he said.
He also issued a stern warning to school heads who were charging registration fees for both KCPE and KCSE candidates.
Matiangi was speaking during an interview at a local radio station and urged all stakeholders for follow stipulated guidelines.
