Interior CS Fred Matiang’i has assured residents from the Gusii region that his ministry will deploy more police officers experienced to fight crime which is on the rise in the region.
He said he will not condone criminals to continue killing innocent people and steal people’s property.
“The law is very clear that anyone found engaging in criminal activities should be sent to jail. We have plans to deploy more police officers experienced to fight crime in Gusii region since I don’t want some few lazy youths to continue terrorizing residents and stealing property,” he noted.
He condemned the killing of two security guards at Nyabigege shopping center and assured that the culprits must be brought into book.
“I have given orders to Kisii County commissioner Godfrey Kigochi to work closely with his junior officers to know the criminals who killed two guards who were on duty and arrest them.
"Security team must be alert 24 hours a day to ensure our people are safe and their property,” he added.
