The Ministry of Education will take a stern action against school heads who will fail to register their candidates for this year’s KCPE and KCSE examinations, CS Fred Matiang’i has warned.

According to the Standard, Matiang’i said some school heads were reluctant to enlist their students for unexplained reasons even as the deadlines for registration beckons.

"The government will pay examination fees for all candidates who will be sitting for their KCSE and KCPE this year. No child should be sent home for not paying the examination fees," he said.

He said it is a crime for any head teacher not register candidates for the national examinations.

"The government will pay examination fees for all candidates who will be sitting for their KCSE and KCPE this year. No child should be sent home for not paying the examination fees," he said.

The Kenya National Examination Council (Knec) has ruled out late registration as well as extending the deadline for the exercise.
