The Cabinet Secretary for Education Fred Matiang’i has warned teachers who have started early campaign in politics.
Matiang’i who was speaking on Friday at St Angela Sengera Girls High School in Gucha during the fund raising in aid of constructing dormitories urged teachers to remain is school all the time and for those who are eyeing for any political seat should resign.
He said there are teachers who were eyeing various seats in next year's general election whom have started early campaigns making them stay away from school.
“Some teachers have started early campaigning to be elected as politicians in the next general election, this has made them not to attend class, I would like to warn them and tell them if they want to be leaders let them resign from teaching,” said Matiang’i.
He noted that there were many trained teachers who have not been employed hence they can not tolerant teachers who are misbehaving.
“We have many trained teachers who need to be employed by the government, so if you are tired of teaching you are allowed to resign and go for your political ambitions and give us an opportunity of employing others,” he said.
