[Photo|PSCU]Ag Interior and Coordination Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i, has sent a special message to supporters of the Opposition's National Super Alliance (Nasa)'Matiang’i who also doubles up as Education Cabinet Secretary, asked Nasa supporters to desist their weekly protests against the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, and embrace peace. He said the countrywide demonstrations were not only hurting the economy, but rather creating cases of insecurity and disharmony."Those people are not exercising their rights, but are engaging in economic sabotage. Shun the demonstrations. We should not be misled to join meaningless demonstrations," Matiang'i said during the burial of Nyamira County Woman Representative Jerusha Momanyi’s father-in-law, Johnson Gichana, over the weekend. His message however did not go well with some of the NASA leaders in the burial, who faulted him, for not speaking what brought him to the ceremony. The Opposition has however vowed to continue with its weekly demonstrations, thrice a week, until their demands are met, before participating in fresh presidential election.
