The warning has been sounded by Interior Cabinet Secretary (CS) Dr. Fred Matiang’i.

Speaking in Nakuru earlier this week when he met Kisumu County Governor Professor Peter Anyang Nyong’o, and his Nandi County counterpart Stephen Sang, Dr Matiang’i said that politicians inciting their respective communities will be dealt with accordingly.

“Counties should focus more on development programmes to uplift economic livelihoods. As the central government, we will not allow chaos to occur due to conflicts between the two counties,” said Dr Matiang’i as quoted by the Nation.

The CS said that all issues to do with boundaries should be solved through the laid down procedures, but not chaos or violence.

Prof Nyong’o and governor Sang promised to ensure that peaceful co-existence prevails in all areas along the Kisumu-Nandi border.

“We have agreed to ensure peaceful co-existence between our communities at the common boundary,” the Nation quoted Governor Nyong’o.

“Nandi County will seek the original boundary between Nandi and Kisumu through the relevant government bodies. We will respect the outcome of the investigation on land injustices,” said governor Sang.
