Nominated senator Veronicah Mbithe Mativo has said that her life is in danger after unknown people believed stormed her house on Wednesday night.
Mativo addressed the area residents and the press gathered at her home, she said that as she was resting together with her family a group of armed men stormed her house demanding for her life.
“At around 2AM thugs stormed my house as I was asleep with my family. I was woken by the shooting and the sounds of windows getting broken in my home. They switched the security lights and so no one could see their faces. The destroyed a lot of property including my cars and my house. I believe these people had been paid because they were in big numbers,” Mativo said
According to Mativo the attackers were armed with guns and axes, the criminals did not manage to get access into the house and no one was injured during the attack
“I don’t know why anyone would disturb my peace. I plead with the national and county government to issue us politicians with extra security because we are being targeted. In Machakos those of us supporting Governor Mutua and development in Machakos are being threatened,” said Mativo.
Officers from the Athi River police station had responded immediately after they received the emergency call.
