This is according to Nakuru county deputy governor Dr Erick Korir who spoke in Gilgil on Wednesday when he opened a workshop on renewable energy technologies within counties.

Korir said better technology and policies offer practical and affordable solutions to reduce dependence on the fossil fuels.

“The commitment to increasing renewable energy at the county level will have a significant impact on reducing carbon dioxide  emissions often attributed to increases in human mortality,” he said.

The DG added that the county will promote efficient use of natural resources and energy while enabling economic growth and cutting down on emissions.
