A politician from Matungulu in Machakos County has criticized Miguna Miguna for causing drama at the Jommo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi.
Charles Kilonzo who unsuccessfully rallied for Matungulu Parliamentary seat on a Chama Cha Uzalendo party ticket in 2017 said the government had good will to allow Miguna into the country when his plane tourched the airport on Monday but he was arrogant.
"Miguna has been calling people names and giving narrative of various cities he had traveled to undermine the current leadership, how do you do that when you are not out of the hook," Kilonzo said.
The staunch NASA supporter spoke to this writer in Tala town on Tuesday.
Kilonzo said even the NASA leader Raila Odinga was embarrassed by Miguna's utterances at the airport.
"Raila seemed frustrated, he wished he never went to the airport. It was very embarrassing of him, the few police officers who were inside were very calm, Jimmy Wanjigi exacerbated the reaction by violently shaking the door," Kilonzo said.
He said Miguna has no respect for Raila since he rubbished the golden handshake between the NASA supremo and President Uhuru Kenyatta when he was asked to comment on it.
Kilonzo said the standoff at the airport would have not been experienced had Miguna obeyed instructions issued to him by the relevant state agencies.
He said Miguna did not realize that the country was peacefully united when he was away only to mess up the country on his return.
Kilonzo said the controversial lawyer should seek guidance, counseling services and probably undergo some treatment.
"He is not going to spoil for us the peace we have now experienced for the last three weeks, he should join in and respect Uhuru and Raila's handshake of peace and reconciliation for fast development," Kilonzo said.
Miguna refused to apply for a Kenyan tourist visa even after the immigration department brought him the papers to fill at the airport.
