Matungulu Member of National Assembly Stephen Mutinda Mule has commissioned the construction and graveling of the Tala-Katine Road in a bid to improve transport and infrastructure within the area.Mule who was speaking as he toured the Katine youth Polytechnic said that the graveling process will take a minimum of six months promising to pay adequate visits to the area to see how things are going. The problem is when maintenance contracts come up there is an advantage to the existing contractor because they have the resources already and someone else has to find those to be able to win the contract. My belief is that we want to control our own destiny to a greater extent, said Mule.Tala Operations engineer Mark Mutisya recommended the County's strategy ought to be in line with other Counties saying it should secure aggregate sites for long-term certainty of supply, and that money be set aside in the County's 2018 long-term plan for the project to be successful.Road Construction on Tala-Katine is scheduled to begin on Wednesday with a single lane closure in place.
