Matungulu sub-county parents have pleaded with area leaders and deputy county commissioner Mwangi to carry out investigations on miraa peddlers in Tala town.
They expressed their concern on March 31 over young people dropping out of school driven by miraa chewing force.
According to them young people leave homes very early in the morning and get back late at night chewing miraa and also under influence of other drugs which they suspect are sold by the same people running legalized miraa business.
"Being a single mother and a parent of two, they have become wasted by drugs and they cant do anything for themselves. As a parent I can just ask for investigations on those running the business," said Munee.
They also asked the county government to provide youth with jobs which will greatly help curb the menace.
