Matungulu Sub County Maendeleo ya wanawake chairlady Victoria Mulalya has urged area women to attend agricutural training programme offered by Machakos County Government.
Speaking on Monday at Tala boys during women’s sporting event Mulalya said that the programme will help them better their production.
“As women you need to take advantage of the training since it will help you boost your farm produce,” said Mulalya.
The training is meant to improve agribusiness in the area.
The sporting event was attended by among others area Member of County Assembly Alex Kimitu who urged the young women to engage in constructive activities to better their livelihoods.
Kimitu called upon women to form groups that can be a platform for developments through government funding.
“Women groups doing significant activities in the society can apply for funds from Uwezo fund for development. I am urging you to form the groups and start small businesses instead of being idle,” said Kimitu.
He added that such projects will help to improve their livelihoods.
