Matuu bodaboda operators have been called upon to obey traffic rules now that there are many passengers using these busy roads where many road accidents and deaths have been recorded.Speaking to the operators Matuu Kona Stage on Wednesday, Matuu OCS Peter Mbua particularly warned the operators against speeding on the narrow feeder roads that connects to main Highway."I appeal to all of you and even the motorists to obey the traffic rules more so at this critical time we are having many passengers in our roads ," said MbuaHe added: "You understand that these roads are very narrow and a motorist or a rider would hardly escape causing an accident especially when on a high speed if for instance they slumped on a vehicle coming from the opposite direction."Mbua said that they will increase patrols in the area to ensure that the operators were adhering to traffic rules.Matuu Association Chairman Patrick Munyoki, however, promised that his members will observe the traffic rules while asking the OCS to ensure that his officers do not harass the operators."We are ready to obey the traffic rules and cooperate with the Police but we request that our members do not get harassed or accused on flimsy grounds," Munyoki said.
