Mavoko OCPD Makori Kodeck has asked bodaboda operators in the sub-county to adhere to traffic regulations.

The OCPD noted that most bodaboda operators and tuktuk operators in the sub-county have continuously ignored traffic regulations.

Kodeck said that the result has been an increase in number of accidents.

Addressing bodaboda and tuktuk operators in Mavoko town on Sunday, Kodeck raised alarm over the rising accidents involving bodaboda operators.

“We are deeply concerned over the rise in number of accidents involving bodaboda operators,” he said.

The police boss said they will launch a crackdown and arrest rogue operators in the area.

“Bodaboda riders must adhere to traffic regulations or quit the business,” said Kodeck.

The Mavoko OCPD further warned bodaboda operators against operating without licenses.

He said that the traffic regulations require riders to have licenses.

Kodeck also asked bodaboda operators to register with Saccos stating that those who fail to do so will face the law.

The OCPD has given the operators seven days to put their work in order failure to which they will be arrested.
