Mavoko Constituency Development Fund (CDF) has allocated Sh2 million from its 2015/016 financial year's budget to support construction of the Athi River deputy county commissioner's offices.

This was announced on Saturday by the area MP Mr Patrick Makau who said that the commissioner's office is an important and critical facility hence deserves necessary support.

Makau, who addressed the press in his offices in Athi River town, said he was touched by the enthusiastic manner in which the commissioner and his staff were serving the public.

"This is the time to give back to the community by doing everything that one can to positively impact on lives of Mavoko residents, especially those from humble backgrounds," said Makau.

The MP said it is in order for the CDF, which is public fund, to also support construction of the office given that it does not belong to the commissioner but members of the public.

"This office does not belong to Athi River deputy county commissioner Mr Kodeck Makori, but the entire community. Let us all support him complete its construction for efficiency in service delivery," said Makau.

"The commissioner has for the last two years been constructing a complex to create more rooms for housing several departmental heads from the national government who are squatters, given that they do not have offices for operations," added Makau.

Makori lauded the MP for the promise to allocate the fund in support of the offices constructions.

Makori said if the two story office construction comes to a completion, members of the public will be assured of more reliable and efficient services. He noted that his office will be capable of closely monitoring all the departmental heads among other public servants serving in the sub county since they will all be brought under one roof.
