Mavoko member of parliament Patrick Makau was arrested on Monday July 11 by the CID when the lawmaker finally decided to end the long search and surrendered himself at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Kiambu Road.

An arrest warrant had been earlier on issued for the arrest of the Mp for allegedly leading a group of bodaboda riders into demonstration and that led to the burning of Syokimau Administration Police camp on Wednesday July 6.

Reports claim that the Mavoko side Mp had been asked by Inspector General of Police Joseph Boinnet to surrender but the Mp had refused to honour the the call from the police commander until now.

It is not clear what made him change his mind and finally took to surrender though.

The protestors are said to have set on fire the container in which slain lawyer Willie Kimani, his client Josephat Mwenda and taxi driver Joseph Muiruri had apparently been held prisoners before their murder and finally being found dead at Ol-Donyo Sabuk river
