According to some residents, the county government of Machakos commenced the project and promised to take a maximum of eight months to complete it but it's almost two years now and still pending.

"As a Mavoko resident, I am saddened that we have been waiting for the hospital construction to be completed for almost two years now.The project portrays bad picture to the county government of Machakos and the area leaders," said Musyoki, a resident.

They said that they have witnessed wrangles among area leaders and governor Mutua towards the particular project and, therefore, they think that, that might be the reason as to why construction came to halt when it was almost complete.

Residents called upon the area legislator Patrick Makau and MCA Mutuku to work together with county government citing that misunderstanding has led the area lag behind.

They reiterated that if only there was unity among leaders the area could be far much ahead in terms of development.
