A section of traders in Mavoko, Machakos county have condemned NASA leadership for calling on their supporters to boycott certain companies and their products.

Led by Joseph Kiio, the young entrepreneurs said it is not possible to do business without some of the products targeted by the opposition.

“How possible is it for Kenyans to survive without M-pesa services offered by Safaricom Company, this is incredible,” said Kiio.

The traders said their businesses thrive through M-pesa.

“We buy our wares in wholesale through M-pesa, some of our customers also use the mode to pay us for our products and services,” said Kiio.

Kiio said they will not drop their safaricom lines for others just because politicians had said so.

They said Kenyans should ignore the politicians and instead coexist as brothers and sisters without minding the politicians.

“It is only your neighbor who comes to your rescue whenever you are in problems, those politicians do not know you,” said Kiio.

They said the ‘resist’ calls by the politicians will seriously affect the nation’s economy.
