Addressing youth groups in Mavoko over the weekend, the MP said that young people must use their time to help in realisation of development.

The MP observed that youths are important and that they should apply their skills to matters development.

“Mavoko youths should come forward and work with us to promote service delivery to our people,” said Makau.

The legislator said that many youths have gone to school and that they should use the skills they have to help the people.

Makau said: “The government has recognised the role of youths in development and has set aside resources to better their lives. The availability of development funds should be an eye opener for youths to take part in development and better themselves.”

The MP said that many youths are taking part in unlawful acts because they are ignorant and not willing to better their lives.

Makau urged leaders across Machakos County to be on the frontline and help in shaping young people.
