Residents of Mawanga estate in Nakuru town will tomorrow, Saturday attend a one day training forum on Nyumba Kumi that has been organized by the County Commission in collaboration with local security and law enforcement officers.
While talking to this writer area Chief Mary Kamau said that there was need for area residents to be informed and get awareness on the importance of embracing the Nyumba Kumi security system initiative.
The Chief, while encouraging residents of the estate and other neighbouring estates to attend the forum that will be presided over by the Nakuru County Commissioner Mohammed Birik, said the Nyumba Kumi security surveillance system had worked well in several parts of the county, and the country in stamping out criminals and improving security.
‘’We are encouraging residents of this area and other neigbouring areas to attend this important forum because Nyumba Kumi has worked well in other areas. We want our people to recognize the importance of embracing the system and how it works,” said the Chief.
She added that the forum had been organized by requests from a section of residents and community welfare groups, who are concerned by security matters.
She added that several security organs and law enforcers from others areas within and outside Nakuru have been invited to speak during the event that will take place at Workers Primary School on Saturday May 2.
