Njokka had asked men to boycott sex for a week to 'protest' against women who batter men.

The irate women who had attended the burial of last week's illicit brew victim in Kiamumbi on Thursday said that Njoka is misleading men and that he should find a worthy cause to spend his energy on.

"Njoka should stop inciting men when they are the real offenders," Jane Wairimu said.

"Men here have found an excuse to even shun their responsibilities more. They are spending all day drinking, like now they are sleeping after a heavy indulgence," Leah Njoki, another woman said.

Others believe that the protest was uncalled for.

"What is the purpose of telling men to protest when they protested a long time ago? You spend the whole night with him but he cannot 'touch' you," Lydia Muthoni said.

Naomi Wambui asked Njoka to address the alcohol problem which is prevalent in the area instead of 'petty' matters.
