[Photo/County Government of Uasin Gishu]Mothers have been urged to maximize the use of free maternity services offered to them in facilities across Uasin Gishu County. The County Government of Uasin Gishu through its Department of Health Services has been equipping health centres with maternity equipment as well as offering constant supplies.Speaking during impromptu visits to Kaptumo, Kapteldon, Chepkigen and Cheptiret Dispensaries in Cheptiret/Kipchamo ward, Health CeC Everlyne Rotich asked mothers to make use of the services made available for them before, during and after deliverying.Rotich who was flanked by the executive in charge of Finance CPA Julius Ruto and Area MCA Gilbert Tenai, emphasised on maximum utilisation of the resources by residents noting that it was purposely meant for them.During the visits on Friday, the Health County boss realised that the numbers of women deliverying in the two dispensaries were dwindling. The County's push for mothers to visit health facilities is aimed at ensuring that infant mortality rate drops, an idea that is also in line with the Jubilee Government's manifesto."By visiting health facilities and religiously heeding to clinic appointments, mothers are able to raise up healthy children, a healthy nation eventually," she said.
