Suba South lawmaker John Mbadi has been the latest leader from the opposition alliance NASA to endorse the alliance's new resistance wing, National Resistance Movement (NRM).
Speaking on Citizen TV Tuesday, the ODM Party National Chair who reiterated the alliance's stand that the nation is headed in the wrong direction termed the movement as the people's only remaining tool to constitutionally uphold the constitution and democracy.
Mbadi also took shots at the ruling Jubilee Party over its recent claims that the NRM will institute unconstitutional measures to achieve its mission terming them as misleading and attributing them to either a misunderstanding or propaganda.
''It is clear that the nation is not on the right track especially after the concluded elections and that is the reason why NASA has brought another tactic to eradicate the problem by legally pushing for reforms. It is also unfortunate that our competitors are associating it with illegal activities.NRM a legal wing of our alliance and Jubilee's claims are either based on misunderstanding or a propaganda bidding to stop our activities,'' said Mbadi.
He said that such formations are not unique to Kenya as they have successfully worked in other democracies before.
''We are not introducing anything new to the world. Some of the greatest leaders in the world including Mahatma Gandhi of India and South Africa's Nelson Mandela reformed their countries using similar methods,'' he said.
