Several ODM leaders now want party chairman John Mbadi to voluntarily resign or they forcefully evict him from office.
Over the weekend, the Suba South MP said the party would push for change of the constitution to ensure removal of 'illiterate' party nominated MCAs.
But with the backing of Kisumu Women Representative Rosa Buyu, the MCAs accused Mbadi of arrogance and asked him to resign.
"In that case, Mbadi should resign for sanctioning nominations of the so called illiterate MCAs," said Alego Central MCA Leonard Oriaro.
And Buyu, a top party activist, accuses Mbadi of plotting to introduce 'derogatory' measures to undermine loyal women.
"There are no academic qualifications for MCAs now. Mbadi should resign for targeting woman who are nominated for their loyalty unfairly," she said.
The ODM party has claimed that most of nominated MCAs are illiterate thus struggle in contributing to debates.
