The Orange Democratic Movement chairman John Mbadi has assured residents of Kisii that Nyacheki by-election will be free and fair and he is confident that ODM will retain the seat.

Speaking on Sunday at Kisii during the reopening of ODM office Mbadi said that nominations to those who are eyeing the seat through ODM party will be fair and free to everyone.

“We would like to assure all aspirants in ODM party that we will conduct fair and free nominations to give an equal opportunity,” he said.

The national chairman also said that they will make sure that the 22 polling stations in Nyacheki ward will be used during the by-election which is scheduled for 26 October after the seat was left vacant when area Member of County assembly Peter Nyaega died through an illness.

“All Polling stations in Nyacheki ward will be used, we urge Nyacheki residents to turn out in large numbers on that day so that they can vote for a newly MCAs through ODM party, ” Mbadi said.

Mbadi sentiments come only a few  days after Governor James Ongwae said that he will continue supporting Nyacheki residents until the new MCA is elected.
