The Nairobi governor, Evans Kidero has made a public announcement to his city residents on a free eye check up exercise.
Making an update via his official Facebook page on Wednesday, Kidero informed his county inhabitants that the Mbagathi District Hospital is conducting a free eye check up exercise.
He said the eye check campaign is targeted at screening patients with poor eyesight, but more priority shall be awarded to those with problems with their eyesight, famously referred to as cataracts. Kidero further noted that the occasional check-up will be reinforced by another free service of cataract removal surgery for those who will be found with the impairment. The scheduled eye surgery will run from the May 1 to May 7, 2016.
The public is, therefore, encouraged to take advantage of the opportunity and avail themselves together with their children for the free check-up and surgery.
The governor said that the move is meant to create a healthy nation in line with his manifesto of ‘‘Better city Better life.’’
