According to Mbarire, the exercise was marred by malpractices.
During the primaries, incumbent Governor, Martin Wambora, was declared the winner after garnering 60,634 votes against Mbarire, who got 43,509 votes.
“A total of 14 polling stations in my strongholds did not conduct the voting process as many got election materials late in the day when potential voters had left,” said Mbarire.
She has demanded nullification of the results that saw her trail Wambora by over 17,000 votes.
On his part, Governor Wambora expressed his confidence in his victory.
“My rival is finding it difficult to accept defeat. She must accept defeat as the electoral process was smooth and transparent,” said Wambora.
