Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has hit out at NASA’s top leadership for allegedly sidelining women in the alliance.
Mboko has accused NASA of neglecting and failing to nurture women into top leadership positions.
Speaking to journalists at Parliament buildings in Nairobi on Wednesday, Mboko said there is no gender parity in the opposition.
She said women in the coalition have been used by their male counterparts with no reward.
She claimed that NASA has a preference for men when it comes to key party positions and decision making.
"We feel abandoned as NASA women and we are calling on our top leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula to intervene and ensure our voices as NASA women are heard," she said.
The vocal MP said women in the opposition have fought hard for the ODM party and must be recognised for their roles.
She urged women not to keep quiet and instead speak out, adding that the constitution guarantees them equality and fairness.
This comes as a section of Coast NASA MPs rejected a list of parliamentary positions forwarded by the coalition to the Speaker Justin Muturi on Wednesday.
The Coast MPs said they have been neglected, arguing that the list favours certain politicians allied to Raila Odinga's ODM party.
The MPs said they will not accept the list until NASA’s top leadership intervenes.
“Coast region had a big contribution to Nasa’s numbers. We will not accept this list. If Coast is not accepted, we will resist... as they are ‘resisting’,” said Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori.
