Mombasa Women Representative Mishi Mboko has said the Jubilee government is frustrating Governor Hassan Joho due to their quest for Coast votes.Mboko claimed that Jubilee is unable to woo Coast residents, adding that is why they are harassing, intimidating and threatening the Mombasa governor.Mboko said Joho’s popularity at the Coast is causing Jubilee sleepless nights.“We all know why Jubilee government is determined to frustrate and intimidate Governor Joho,” she said on Thursday.Mboko further said that Joho is being intimidated because of his constant criticism of the Jubilee administration.She said it is unconstitutional for a government to intimidate citizens and opposition leaders who criticize its activities, adding that they (opposition) will stand with Governor Joho till the end.“We are going to fight these Jubilee battles together with Joho,” she said.Joho is being investigated by the Criminal Investigation Department (DCI) over allegations of forging his academic certificates.The governor is also being probed by Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) over alleged tax related offenses.On Tuesday, ODM leader Raila Odinga warned Jubilee against harassing Joho, adding that President Uhuru Kenyatta is misusing his powers by allegedly intimidating opposition governors.
