The battle for the Likoni Parliamentary seat is continuing to hot up with the two main aspirants Mishi Mboko of ODM and the incumbent Masoud Mwahima (Jubilee) accusing each other of poor leadership.Mboko claimed Mwahima has received over 100 million shillings since 2013 but has failed to utilize the amount to improve the living standards of the residents.Mboko who is the incumbent Mombasa County Women Representative, said Mwahima should be sent home because he cannot deliver anything new for Likoni people.Mboko accused Mwahima of failing to initiate youth development projects, women empowerment programmes and basic health facilities in the constituency despite having the CDF kitty.“I have struggled to improve the living standard for the community despite the fact that the women representative seat does not have any budgetary allocation,” said Mboko. She lashed out at Mwahima saying despite serving as MP for a total of three terms, he has not delivered any tangible long term project for the Likoni community.“It is time we change the leadership and focus more on development for our Likoni people,” she said.Mboko who was conducting her political campaigns at Mrima on Sunday, said the only dispensary that Mwahima constructed through the CDF kitty lacked medical staff and proper health services. She assured Mwahima of a tough battle in the August polls urging locals to support her quest for the Likoni parliamentary seat. While responding to Mboko's statements, Mwahima said he will floor Mboko with a wide margin since he has met voters' expectations for over a decade now.“Let Mboko try her luck we are in a democratic nation no one will block her efforts to unseat me, but she should work extra hard,” he said.
