Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has hit out at the Nairobi Police boss Japheth Koome claiming he is  being used by top Jubilee government officials to intimidate NASA leaders and their supporters..

Mboko states that Koome is being misused by the government to frustrate NASA operations.

Speaking to journalists in Likoni  Town on Monday, the ODM MP said that NASA will defy police orders stopping their Jacaranda rally.

She said that the police have no right to stop a public rally that is legally provided for in the constitution.

“Koome is working under strict instructions from State House to frustrate us (NASA),” she alleged.

Mboko said that they (NASA) have every right to conduct their any rally anywhere in the county adding that they have been properly notifying the police in their recent rallies.

“What police should be doing is to provide us with security and not stopping our planned rallies,” she added.

Mboko said that NASA will not fall to police intimidation in their quest for electoral justice.

NASA’s planned Tuesday Jacaranda grounds rally hangs in the balance as police claim that the opposition has not notified them.

Koome has since warned that no one will be allowed access to the grounds. NASA on the other hands claims that is has written to the area OCs notifying him of the meeting.

The opposition has vowed to go on with the rally as planned. NASA’s Jacaranda rally will coincide with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s swearing-in at the Kasarani stadium on Tuesday.
