Likoni MP Mishi Mboko has sent a stern warning to Jubilee MPs over their plan to amend election laws ahead of the repeat presidential election next month

Mboko says that Jubilee’s plan will be opposed vehemently.

Speaking to journalists in Mombasa on Tuesday, the MP termed Jubilee MPs move as selfish and meant to influence the outcome of the repeat presidential election.

She said that they (opposition MPs) will not allow Jubilee to us its numbers to amend the laws to fulfil their own selfish interests.

“Jubilee MPs should know that we are ready for them and any attempts to amend the elections laws will be opposed vehemently,” she said as quoted by the People Daily.

The ODM MP claimed that Jubilee is not interested in credible repeat presidential poll.

She said that amending election laws with weeks left to the repeat poll is suspicious and in bad faith. Mboko asked Kenyans to stand firm and be ready to defend the constitution.

She also appealed to Kenyans to maintain peace ahead of the repeat election next month.

Jubilee MPs say that they will be pushing for the amendment of some sections of the election laws before the repeat presidential election.
