Speaking in Elementaita on Saturday, Mbugua said that his government has put in place various strategies meant to improve the living standards of the people. He said that the constitution provides chance for the public to engage with their leaders as they promote development.

“I want to ask the Nakuru people to work with my government as we focus on promoting their lives,” he said.

The county boss said that his government will not be distracted by people who he accused of plotting to derail development. Mbugua further said that his government will not engage in any kind of petty politics and instead will devote its time to serving the people.

The former Administration Police commandant noted that time has come for leaders to be accountable to the people. He said time for politics ended and that leaders should get back to work.

The county boss added that empty, selfish and petty politics will not help Kenyans and that leaders should draft policies and ideas that will address the socio-economic challenges facing the country.

Mbugua urged residents to be on the fore front in preaching unity and embrace each other as Kenyans.

He said that leaders who perpetuate hatred and tribalism should be condemned and will not be welcome in Nakuru County.

He added that Nakuru is a cosmopolitan county that embraces unity and peace.
