Mbugua in a statement to the media on Tuesday said his government will not allow politicians both from government and opposition to hold ‘tribal’ meetings.

The Governor said that his government values peace and security of its citizens.

“As county government we are not going to allow politicians to organize or conduct tribal meetings or rallies in Nakuru,” he said in the statement.

The governor also asked politicians who spew hate to keep off the county.

He said Nakuru is a cosmopolitan county and anyone spewing hatred will not be tolerated.

He added that the county is working closely with the national government to ensure hate mongers are tamed.

Mbugua’s warning comes after the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) and the police summoned Nakuru Town MP Kimani Ngunjiri over hate remarks.

The Nakuru Town MP has however vowed to snub the summons come Friday saying that he did not make the statements as being claimed by NCIC and the police.

Last week Cord leader Raila Odinga’s meeting in Nakuru almost aborted after youth allegedly allied to Jubilee threatened to storm the meeting.

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka blamed Jubilee for hiring goons to disrupt Raila's meeting and called for arrest of the goons.
