Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has blamed his political detractors for being behind the Thursday incident where he was booed and heckled in the presence of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.
Through his official Facebook page, Mbugua said certain leaders who were keen on settling scores and articulate their own issues had been behind the crowd's show of disregard and indifference when he rose to address them.
Mbugua also blasted the leaders for not appreciating his efforts to ensure a peaceful and united Nakuru saying they were not happy with the efforts he had made in transforming the county.
He also urged residents to keep off such leaders whom he described s being disrespectful to him.
During the Thursday incident along the Mburu Gichua round-about, found himself on the receiving end after a section of the crowd jeered at him when he attempted to address them forcing DP Ruto to intervene.
The crowd was allegedly not happy with the way he had evicted hawkers from the town's streets saying it had been done in the most inhumane manner.
