The governor termed Salim’s death as a great loss to the county and country as a whole bearing in mind that the artist was a national entertainer.

“I join many in sympathy and sorrow after the loss of Junior who was a great contributor to talent realization in the county and country. The loss is not just for the family but the county, country and the world,” Mbugua said.

Mbugua said Salim had been an inspiration to many young people whom he mentored and inspired to fully explore their talents.

The governor urged young people to nurture their talent and use them to make a living.

Salim Junior was pronounced dead on January 23, 2016, when he was rushed at Nakuru Memorial by family members after a short illness. His legacy, however, lives due to his entertaining music.
