Nakuru county governor Kinuthua Mbugua has said his recent heckling by his constituents in the presence of president Uhuru Kenyatta was baptism by fire.
Speaking publicly for the first time over the incident in Afraha Stadium Saturday when he led other county leaders in inspecting the venue ahead of a national prayer and thanksgiving rally over the termination of the ICC cases, Mbugua said he learnt his political lesson the bitter way through the heckling a month ago but chose to take it positively.
"For a long time I have been an administrator and not a politician. Now I am maturing in politics, the incident was baptism by fire, a person is only baptized once and now I can say I am a politician proper," Mbugua said.
He however clarified that all leaders from the county had agreed to support the rally whose theme is to transform Nakuru from a threat of violence to a theater of peace a theme which has been chosen by the deputy president William Ruto himself.
Among other leaders who graced the occassion included deputy governor Joseph Ruto, county speaker Susan Kihika, MPs David Gikaria(Nakuru tow east), Kimani Ngunjiri(Bahati), Samwel Arama(Nakuru town west), Mary Mbugua(Nakuru county) among other leaders.
