Speaking at ACK All Saints Cathedral in Kiamaina Bahati constituency when he presided over a fundraiser on Sunday, Mbugua said that it is not yet time for political campaigns.

The governor noted that starting political campaigns at this time will interfere with service delivery and other development projects already taking place.

“I appeal to Nakuru politicians to halt their campaigns and support my government realise the development agenda,” he said.

Mbugua said that time for political campaigns will come and politicians will have enough time to sell their agenda to the people.

The governor said that residents will judge politicians on the work they will have done for them come the next general elections.

“It will be better for us politicians to serve the people so that when we return to them in 2017 they will easily support and accept us,” he said.

Mbugua further urged Nakuru leaders to remain united and help spread messages of peace to the people.

The former Administration Police Commandant said that unity is an important catalyst for development.

He added that no development can be realised in a divided society.

“We as leaders should know that unity and peace comes first before anything else,” he said.
