Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has hit out at his critics concerning the state of Early Child Development centres (ECD) in Nakuru County.

While addressing the media on Thursday, Mbugua called on his critics to be calm concerning ECD because his government was in the process improving standards in the sector.

Mbugua urged parents not to panic regarding ECD sector in the county because he was personally working to ensure operations have been streamlined in order to offer quality education.

"So far we have constructed 354 ECD classrooms and you can go on the ground and confirm.I know we are yet to equip the centres fully but am calling on those who are in the habit of  criticizing everything to be patient, we are working," said Mbugua.

The county boss, however, admitted that the established centers were not user-friendly for small children.

He also revealed that other 124 ECD centres were still under construction and upon completion, they will be equipped to cater for the needs of early Development in Education sector.
