Nakuru woman representative Mary Mbugua has expressed contentment after successfully completing a food donation project across the larger Nakuru County.
Speaking in Lanet on Friday after holding her last donation to a group of elderly women, widows, the disabled and the less privileged, she thanked all the stakeholders who necessitated the programme, further thanking all the beneficiaries for their cooperation.
The initiative was as a result of full sponsorship from the Ministry of Devolution, Planning for Special Programmes and the woman rep office.
"I am satisfied that the relief food reached every corner of the county benefitting the elderly, sick, disabled and needy which was its intended purpose," she said.
According to the MP, the project had achieved more than 90 per cent success, having reached majority of the target beneficiaries as stipulated by the ministry.
She downplayed earlier accusations that she was using the project as a secret campaign tool, arguing that her sole responsibility was improving the livelihoods of the people and not engaging in baseless politics aimed at dividing the people of Nakuru.
The donations comprised foodstuff such as beans, maize, rice and cooking oil.
