Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has hailed the national government for partnering with the county government in addressing water shortage in the region.
According to Mbugua, among the projects the partnership is looking forward to is the implementation of the ongoing construction of Itare Dam, and rehabilitation and conservation of the Mau Complex which will supply water daily to residents of Molo, Kuresoi, Njoro, Rongai and Nakuru towns.
"We as the county government of Nakuru have partnered with the national government and other development partners to construct Itare Dam as well as the rehabilitation and conservation of the Mau Complex to provide water for area residents. We are also working towards the construction of Kitiri Dam in Nyandarua County that will help supply water to the residents of Naivasha town and its environs," Mbugua stated.
"This is why I must commend the partnership that exists between us and the National Government and other key development partners in addressing critical challenges that we face in our efforts to provide our people with clean drinking water," Mbugua added.
