All county government of Nakuru services are now being offered at the sub-county level on a weekly basis.

The outreach programme was launched Wednesday in Kuresoi North by Governor Kinuthia Mbugua when he awarded a four-year comprehensive bursary to Elias Kipkoech, 14, to enable him further his studies at Nakuru High School where he has been admitted in Form One.

Kipkoech who was accompanied by his parent, was forced to repeat Class 8 last year after failing to access financial help to enable him join Koilel High School in Gilgil.

According to the county government of Nakuru, the outreach programme will continue on Thursday in the same area after which it will be moved to Kuresoi South from February 17 and 18.

According to Mbugua, the exercise will be then set up twice a week in all eleven sub - counties and trickle down to all the 55 wards of the county.

The programme, said Mbugua, aims to take the county government closer to the people, adding that it is also meant to change the way the government has been operating.

However, the county boss has also asked residents in Nakuru to participate in governance on issues affecting them.
