Addressing a crowd at Nakuru's Mkarafuu grounds on June 11, Mr Mbugua stated that Nakuru was not the place for causing chaos and added that the Cord leader Raila Odinga had nothing left to offer the mwananchi.

"President Uhuru and his Deputy William Ruto who were elected by the people are in Machako's giving people food and ensuring there is water. What has this person brought to Nakuru today? Now that he has brought us riddles, and now that those people who were elected are busy at work, will we have anything to eat this evening?" added Mbugua.

Mbugua also slammed Cord's demonstrations, saying that the opposition leaders were doing nothing but physical exercise to keep their bodies fit.

"While we are thinking about how the youth will get jobs, they are busy snoring in their beds. This is the reason why they have a lot of fat in their bodies. ...They are also running so that they can burn the fat in their bodies. That is why their doctor has recommended that they do this two times in a week," said Mbugua.

Mbugua's address came immediately after youths had interrupted Cord leader Raila Odinga's meeting at a Nakuru hotel on the same day.

The governor who was accompanied by his deputy Joseph Ruto and Bahati MP Kimani Ngunjiri among other Nakuru leaders also stated that he would not sit down and watch the chaos erupting in county.

According to the governor, the opposition leader was into causing chaos in Nakuru, adding that were it not for his receiving the information about Raila’s whereabouts late, he would have told the opposition leader to his face that Nakuru was not interested in Cord politics.

He also warned that those who will be found demonstrating in Nakuru County will face the full force of the law.
