Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has topped the list of preferred gubernatorial contestant in latest opinion poll.
Governor Mbugua maintained his lead with 42.8 per cent of respondents saying they would re-elect him, in the opinion polls that were conducted through Random Online Sampling (ROS).
According to the polls, Lee Kinyanjui was preferred by 4.2 percent of respondents, while John Mututho scored 1.3 percent. Others rated as probable gubernatorial candidates include; Eng Victor Ngatia (1.1%) and the County senator James Mungai who has shown interest in the seat (1.1%).
In the Senate race, Nakuru County assembly speaker Susan Kihika is the most popular candidate with 26 per cent popularity. She is followed Madaraka Mwithaga who has 24 per cent. These are by far the two most popular candidates for the senate race currently.
In the poll results, Former Rongai MP aspirant Jack Waihenya, who has since shifted to the senate contest, came in third with 15.6 per cent of respondents saying they would consider him for the senatorial post.
Other probable candidates for the Senatorial seat include Peter Ndagi (1.4%), James Kimani (0.7%), Paul Korir (0.5%) and Dr stanley Karanja (0.1%).
The poll which uses Random Online Sampling (ROS), was pioneered to carry out a research that generates representative data through the random selection of online respondents, with the aim of accessing the approval ratings of both sitting and aspiring leaders across the Rift region.
