Nakuru County governor Kinuthia Mbugua has called for social diversity in the promotion of national values  among Nakuru residents.

Speaking on Friday at the Nakuru Sports Club during a breakfast prayer, Kinuthia said there was need for Nakuru residents to embrace gender, ethnic, religious, political, and social cultural diversity in order to harmoniously coexist.

"When diversity is tolerated, generational gaps are closed, leading to uniform attitudes, values to all members of society," said Mbugu.

Mbugua noted that residents can tolerate diversity by understanding and appreciating other people's views, values, strengths and challenges.

“Nakuru residents have co-exited together due to the fact that they have embraced social diversity," he said.

He said increased diversity will have an impact on social interaction and the integration of Nakuru residents.

He thanked the organisers of the prayer meeting for promoting social stability in the county.

“Clergies have been our partners in promotion of social stability and their work is worth noting," he said.

He urged Nakuru residents to continue cooperating with Nakuru County leadership in promoting social diversity and unity .

The event was also attended by different political and social leaders from all the county and was organised by Nakuru County Government, Nakuru Christian Professionals Association and Nakuru Church Elders Council .
