Land grabbers and holders of illegal title deeds have been put on notice by Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua.
Mbugua, who was speaking during launch of education projects among them ECDE centres in Njoro Sub County, said his government is working round the clock to wipe out land grabbers.
“All those holding illegal title deeds and those that have grabbed public land will be dealt with fairly and squarely. We have the newly inaugurated Nakuru Land Management Board that is committed to put to an end to cases of grabbing of public land for private use,” said Mbugua.
He however noted that the support from the public is vital in the process of eliminating greedy grabbers since they use unsuspecting members as easy prey whom they sell land under illegal title deeds.
“All public utility lands in this area are well documented, thus we will follow up on all possible land grabbing cases and revoke the title deeds. I ask residents to be very vigilant to help the County Government fight the vice,” he said.
In his visit, the governor also paid a visit to Mau evictees who live along a road in Ngunjini, and promised some aid to the families.
“We are going to take up the matter with the National Government so that evictees are permanently settled. We are also going to provide them with food, drugs and materials for repairing houses,” he said.
