Nakuru County Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has said that his government will install street lights in all slums within the county.

"We are planning to put street lights in all slums and shopping centres within the county," said Mbugua.

At the same time he said that repair work on existing street lights will be done in major towns; Naivasha, Nakuru and Molo.

Mbugua noted that broken street lights will be modified adding that a substantial amount of money has been set aside.

Speaking in Sirikwa ward while accompanied by his deputy, Joseph Rutto, the county boss maintained that his government is focused in service delivery.

He said already street lights project has kicked off, in several slum, within the county; the project is expected to help in lighting up streets hence curbing insecurity.

Mbugua urged Nakuru residents to make good use of development projects initiated by the county government.

“We need to make use of the opportunities the county government is creating,” urged Mbugua.

He said he has directed his team to deliver pledges noting that residents have great expectation from his team.

“We are committed to achieve all aspirations. My government has laid down the necessary infrastructure and engaged with different investors and other development partners and soon you will see changes,” added Mbugua.
